Parents' Forum

Corpus Christi School Parents' Forum

‘Working in partnership for the future of our children.’

As part of our aim to ensure effective communication between home and school at Corpus Christi we are to set up a Parents' Forum.

The forum creates a platform for parent’s voices as it facilitates communication between parents/carers, staff and governors. The forum works to create opportunities for parents to be involved in school matters, provide feedback on provision, offer a parent's perspective on current policy and practice and input into decision making and planning for future provision.

The aims of which are:

  • To encourage parents to participate fully in the life and work of the school
  • To ensure effective communication is maintained between all stakeholders
  • To be a forum for parents to express ideas and views of their class.
  • To gain the support of parents and actively encourage them to participate in the process of school improvement as we share our vision for excellence.

Parent Voice IS:

Parent Voice IS NOT:

  • A body of parents that represents ALL parents.
  • A group that collates ideas and suggestions for consideration by the Executive Head and the Governing body.
  • A way for parents to learn more about the school.
  • A real way for parents to contribute to the successful running of the school.

  • A way of tabling complaints about individuals.
  • A way of dealing with complaints from individual parents.
  • A decision making body – appropriate suggestions are presented to the Executive Head Teacher and Governors for consideration.

The objectives of the Parents' Forum are:

To work in partnership with the school to create a welcoming environment which is inclusive for all parents and carers.

To promote partnership between the school, its pupils and all its parents and carers. To develop and engage in activities which support the education and welfare of the pupils.

To identify and represent the views of parents on the education provided by the school and other matters affecting the education and welfare of the pupils.

All parents and carers are welcome to join the Parents Forum at Corpus Christi and at least one member of staff and the Family Support Officer will attend every meeting.

Members of the Parent Forum shall be expected to remain on the Parents Forum for a minimum of 1 academic year.

A parent member of the Forum for shall report to the Full Governing Body at least once each year on its activities/views on behalf of all the parents.

The Parent Forum will meet at least once in every term.

The Parent Forum at Corpus Christi Primary School was set up to ensure that parent voice is heard in decision making. It is not an avenue for complaining about problems/situations involving specific children.

The Forum supports the work of the school and aids in future improvements.

Parents often see things from a practical angle, where schools can get bound up by our own procedures. We are looking for practical suggestions for common issues. An opportunity to get involved in the future of our school.
